Behind Feena's house is the sulfa weed, located somewhere in a small mountain range.
The Herb Mountain is sealed by a wooden blockade because Feena fears the monster that lay behind it. It's filled with holes and made of wood, so I'm sure it keeps the fearsome snakes at bay. To get past it, Justin does a jump kick that breaks his foot but does manage to knock the wood off. Beyond the gate is a single location that's hard to navigate. It's a maze, yes, and there are not a lot of map check markers. So we're looking for a needle in a haystack! Throughout the place are many fake, white sulfa weeds. But only the red one work for our task. After a forever of searching, we find what we need on a lone cliff. There are no bosses back here, and the monsters aren't much different from anything we've done battle with. Return to Feena's house, and she'll make something for our horned boy. It'll take a while to take effect, so everyone goes to bed. Feena stays up to keep watch.
Not too long after, though, Justin wakes up to fine flute music. Feena's passed out, so he wakes everyone up. We head outside and see the boy, along with his horn and tail, playing a flute. When the party tries to speak to him, no one can understand him. He hands Justin a nut and tries to signal him to eat it. Before he can, however, Nana, Mio, and Saki show up with their tanks (not Magitech) and a horde of soldiers. They've come to reclaim the boy and will do whatever is necessary. One of them lets slip that he's from a lost civilization. The team thinks about fighting, but they go quietly to the Garlyle Base.
An anime cutscene shows us the mass and size of this place that functions as an army base and an airforce carrier...thing. But we're in the jail cells! Justin and Sue are thrown into one, while Fenna is alone nearby. We have no idea where the boy is. Justin and Sue quickly come up with an escape plan. There is a hefty pipe near the toilet, which can be used as a great budgeting tool. Sue feigns a stomach ache, and one of the soldiers enters the cell. When the soldier turns his back, Justin attacks him, knocking the soldier out. They pick up his key and head to Feena. The key doesn't work on her cell, so they try the next room. It's the reception room and is filled with a single soldier talking to their CO via Facetime. Rather than let the conversation finish, Justin attacks in the middle of it. Time is running until reinforcements arrive. It doesn't matter since there is no key, so we're quickly thrown back into our cells. This time, they split up Justin and Sue.
Justin is, literally, hanging out alone, and Leen comes down to speak to him. She ushers off the guard and enters the cell. She backhands Justin since he can't shut up, which causes him to spin around and get dizzy. Leen leaves, but she "accidentally" drops the key to the cell. Our hero manages to escape the rope and tries a second jailbreak. He frees Sue and Feena next door. My game bugs out here and shows two Feena's, but it's only a display bug. Down the hall more, we can enter the air ducts and explore the base. We can listen in on more conversations between the foot troops, which are more world building stuff. Keep following the ducts, and we'll come to a walkway near a cage. Our strange boy is inside the cage, and he's having a conversation with Mullen. Why can Mullen speak his language? The boy is, according to the blond guy, too afraid to talk, so he leaves. We can restart our exploration. We come to a room, but the exit is blocked with a keypad. So it's back into the ducts to sneak around again. There are few rooms we can enter, though, to get a few treasures. In time, we'll come to barracks. It's filled with three people: Mio, Nana, and Saki...in their underwear!!! They discuss their love for Mullen and the correct passcode for the door. The last one is correct (Mio?), so take her advice. "Right, right, left, left, up, down, up, down (I think)." Using the code, we can finally free our boy.
Use the winding mechanic to the right, and the cage will rise. Boy-o will leave and hand us all a nut. The party is unsure if they should eat it, but they decide to do so all at once, in case they died. Evidentially, it's very spicy. Sue and Justin run around in pain, and Feena collapses. The boy runs over to Justin and asks if he's alright. Justin remarks on the taste and insults the kid before the kid introduces himself as Rem. Sue states that she can understand the boy! Rem tells us that was a Communique Nut that allows people to speak the same language. With introductions over, they all try to leave the base. But it won't be easy.
Along the way, we have to fight the fully clothed commanders. All three battles are exactly the same. They have to same moves, and each are accompanied by three soldiers. Each has less HP than the one before, so it gets easier. They're not too hard, but to take out the ads. I had other plans in the last fight and nearly lost. The attacks are all single target, so just keep an eye out. We have full range of the base, so make sure to open all the chests. After the second commander fight, we reach the ground level. There are a few things to find out here, but they blend in with the ground. Look for the flash, or look for a map. I got Sue's new throw weapon up here. Beyond the third fight is a train station. The team gets on, pumps to full speed, and breaks down the door in their path. We're now free!
The camera cuts to Leen and Mullen. Leen informs her boss that everything is going as planned and tells her he'll watch from their airship. So I guess we fell into another trap. Sometime later, Justin is captaining the train when Feena comes in. She tells him the other two are sleeping and offers to take his place while he sleeps. He turns her down, so the two team up to speed up. In the morning, all four of them are talking in the main engine. Rem tells us he's from the Village of Luc, near the End of the World. It's a nice, peaceful moment that is suddenly broken up. We hear explosions, and the team heads to the caboose. They see the Garlyle airplanes attacking the train, which is a terrible way to reclaim the boy for your boss. We then return to the engine, fighting invading soldiers. There is a lot of them, but only the last three fights are noteworthy. They're not soldiers but leaders in blue. They have more HP but fight the same. Once back to the engine room, the team plans an ambush after Justin breaks the brake lever.
Mio, Nana, and Saki enter with their troops, but we're nowhere to be found. Justin follows them in and laughs at them before telling Sue and Feena to uncouple the train. As the commanders and the engine leave the other carts behind, the three of them yell at us as they suffer a fourth defeat in two days. The cabin we're in slows down and rests in a deep, misty forest. Ram plays his flute, which was a ruse to use a nut to clear the fog. We can now find the Village of Luc in this forest, but we'll do that...
...tomorrow!
