God of Light

I make my way through the forest and enter Luc Village. Rem tells us to speak to the village chief because people won't talk to us otherwise. They do but offer little value.

On the east side of the city, across a fissure in the cliffs, is the chieftain's hut. He welcomes us and thanks us for saving Rem, but something is off. He wants us gone. He's afraid of outsiders. He may seem set on not letting us stay in the village, but he's a nice guy. If we wish to stay, then we need to perform a task for him. We are to climb the nearby God of Light Mountain and obtain a bottle at the top.

The task is easy. There are a few paths to go down, but following the yellow pointer takes you to the goal. There are treasures at the dead ends, so it's worth going down them. Go under the pagodas. We reach the top fighting no bosses, only easily killed snakes and birds, and grab the sacred water. We see the God Light behind it and hear it buzzing. Head back down to the chief and take part in the symbolic gesture, and he lets us stay the night in the village. He also gives us backstory on the village and the Angelou. The Angelou lived in the light and had wings. But the lowly humanoids, Luc's ancestors, "stole their wings." They were punished for this and were enshrouded in darkness. The Angelou built the wall between them as further punishment and to keep the two separate. When we ask for the Mist Clearing Nut we need to reach The End of the World, he doesn't give us one. The supply is low, and they're in charge of protecting them, holding them sacred.

Head over to Rem's house, and his mom made us dinner. She and Rem's dad don't join us, so I guess they were punishing their son for leaving the village? It's one of those dinner scenes I like. Peace doesn't last long, though. We see a scene with Mullen and Leen. I'm sure you can guess where this is going...

Airplanes wake up the populace, and the team bursts into action. We convince the chief to let us defend the village because we're all friends. So we return to the mountain, fighting only soldiers this time. They're the blue variety and are more annoying than anything. We have to run a gauntlet of five of them. All the monsters are gone. When we reach the God of Light, we see we're too late. Leen has attached it to a hook and is drawing it towards the airship. She's shocked to see Justin here for some reason but is about to be more confused. She notices her sister is with us. Leen is the sister Fenna spoke of a few days ago. But the family reunion isn't important. Justin leaps onto the God. Leen wants him to get off the "Spirit Stone," which triggers Justin's Spirit Stone to activate. It breaks the God in half, and Justin falls a long way down. Leen takes her half away.

Justin is fine when the party finds him, having only hurt his butt. He's disappointed that he failed to protect the God but asks everyone to pick up the remains. We return to the summit, and the townsfolk are happy. They're cool with having only half a god. The chief is also changed. He believes that the village should open up to the outside more and plans to do so. He once thought all outsiders were bad, but our attempted defense of this village has opened his eyes. He hands us the Mist Clearing Nut, letting us pass to the End of the World.

I returned to the village, took the new exit, and entered the Mist Forest. Justin threw the but into the mist, and we'll make our way to the big, beautiful wall…

…tomorrow!

It's Monday, you know what that means. I didn't get much playtime in, so I'll try to cram tomorrow.
