Fallout: Legaia

The team enters the fabled town of Octam. Noa gets excited because Hari will finally tell her what her dreams mean. Even by her standards, Noa is excessively animated. She runs around the town, asking for Hari at the top of her lungs. The fact that Octam is deserted never crosses her mind. As usual, Gala has to calm her down. He points out that no one is around, and no one is responding. You can point out the exact moment when her heart breaks. But then she remembers the Genesis Trees. Maybe if we revive one, Hari will come back? She asks Terra, but the ra-seru can't find one nearby. Gala suggests moving on with our plan, which was to find Hari, but Vahn can suggest looking around before we move on. Noa blows him a kiss, and we search the desolate village.

There's nothing here. The only thing of note is a new seru we can learn, which is a game changer. Orb can heal the entire party for the low price of eighteen MP. There's also a book that tells us about Octam and the surrounding area, and it's a free version of the tour guide in Vidna. When you're done finding magic, head into the temple from the ground floor. It takes us through various temple looking rooms until we get to a strange room with four books. Read them in order from top left to right, then bottom left to right. The books tell us, the ra-seru users, that the denizens of Octam knew the mist was coming, so they hid underneath the town. To reach them, we need to make the flower bloom at the Shadow Gate using a Star Pearl. It reminds the party that the woman in Vidna told us about these books. After reading the fourth book, a staircase opens beneath it. Before going down, inspect the crystals before the books. They're a key to something later...

The new staircase leads us to a locked elevator. And it turns out we've been followed. An alluring woman, who we'll learn is named Cara, laughs at us from the stairs. She thinks we're basic treasure hunters/thieves. After a conversation where no one tells anyone anything, we get Cara to say she found the Star Pearl, but she pawned it off on Zazan in Jeremi. What's the timeline for this stuff? One of our party members asked how Cara got through the mist...

Zazan quickly hands over the pearl, and I went back to Octam. There was nothing there because the destination was Shadow Gate to the east. And someone's waiting for us! This is Gi Delilas, and he's a ninja. He heard we beat Zeta but is upset that we're a bunch of kids. For some reason, he wants to fight our leader. I try to say Gala is the head of our group, but he submits that it's Vahn. Why is Vahn the leader? So that means it's time for a fight. Noa wants in, but it's tradition for Delilass to fight one on one. But then his family shows up! The quick and agile Lu and the big and strong Che. But something happens, and all three need to leave...

This is when the crystal code I told you about in Octam comes into play. Earth, Wind, Fire, Water. The flower statue in the middle of the field blooms, and a drop of water sits in it. Vahn drops the Star Pearl into it, and now it acts like an elevator. It takes us to a branching path dungeon. There's a new seru down here, Nova. As I said, there are a number of branching paths here. There's a treasure at the end of all of them, so if you go more than two screens without finding one, turn back. Nothing's too fancy, but the Life Ring is nice. There's a strange floating path towards the end. It looks complicated, but it's not. Vahn can jump on and off the bouncing bits. After a loop around a rock, we'll reach civilization! Noa is excited because Hari must be here this time! So we'll explore Octam Underground...

...tomorrow!

Two dungeons tonight! I beat my average tonight!
