The Ancient Wind Cave is now devoid of mist. And the man, Old Man, I annoyed earlier has forgotten all about our run in and is excited to have customers! I didn't use the inn, but I ran out of money buying his stuff. There's also a switch in this alcove that opens the door further north. This path is free from mobs and takes us to another person excited to have patrons for the first time in ten years. The Old Witch offers us a free night at her inn that I'm obligated to accept.
That night, Vahn, Noa, and Gala have a dream that each are in with each other. It's nice and lucid. A light that Noa thinks is her mom is floating around, but then it speaks. Hari is a being who exists between worlds, and he knows about the mist. He learned it all from Rem, a god in this world. Hari wants us to find him in Rem'e Shrine, located beneath the town of Octum. Octum is to the north of us in the middle of the Sebucus Islands. When the team wakes up and leaves (after talking to the orphans), Old Witch gives us two Door of Winds, the game's fast travel system.
The Sebucus Islands are a huge archipelago chain. As we travel north, we pass a high tower, but I keep walking because I see a town. Vidna is a safe haven from the mist because the windmills that line the town keep it at bay. That's not how windmills work, but okay. Before the world ended, it was a hot springs village. It's free to use now, but we don't gain anything by stepping in them. Other than gear we still can't afford, there's a woman from Rem Shrine. Hari told her to wait for "three ra-seru users to visit the town." She's been waiting for us for ten years to tell us the same thing Hari, an alleged 1000-year-old man, did in our dream.
I went back to the tower that was named Jeremi. Unlike Vidna, it's been ruined by the mist. Zombies walk the town, and seru can be fought. Fortunately, our ras detect a Genesis Tree at the top of the tower that we're about to learn is the Sky Garden.
The gimmicks have returned, and this is a vertical maze. We have to go up and down the elevator system. It's simple and short, with only about five floors. There's a new magic seru we can collect named Swordie. It's a wind spell that is pretty cheap and good. At the top is a garden, and the Genesis Tree is found in the back. But something is gnawing on it, draining the power of our favorite flora. Noa tries to pray the weird bug thing off the tree, but all that does is annoy it.
Berserker is hard. It hits for massive damage and likes poison. As it gets weaker, it'll cast Stone Circle and kill your entire party. I tried a few times to defeat it by using the new magic spell, but I couldn't muster it. Instead, Berserker can be killed with Nighto. It'll usually do nothing, but it can confuse the bug fairly regularly. More importantly, though, it can outright kill Berserker. And that's how I did it because this felt dumb. Our party combines their powers to revive the Genesis Tree after
Two people who were in the tower begin to return to their senses. They take notice of what we've done, and Noa and Gala pantomime how. Everyone is excited, so it's time to see what Jeremi looks like now...
...tomorrow!
Why is everything so expensive!?!?
