To be the best.

Let's find our brother's sage or whoever.

Rather than rest up, we need to find some dude Doug said was important. It's only been a day, but I forgot why we were supposed to look for him. Does he know where Taurus or Surt are? To reach the sage, we'll need to find a boat east of the travel agency. It's a random dude with a canoe, but we can rent it for 100 gold. We're taken around the river to Mantra Peak, a quick enough trek with no gimmicks or bosses. We'll reach a woman named Zora. If you investigate the doorways behind her, she'll stop us from entering the right room, and the left one contains a portal to hell. A spirit tries to go through it, but Zora convinces it to stay in hell. Doing what we're supposed to do has her suggest we find someone else. We now seek Nurn, the merchant in Ompross. More importantly, Taurus has been through lately. The netherworld portal or on foot?

We get back to Danslief in the morning and have a fight to do. It's against the Amatista. We can choose to fight with only magic or only physical attacks. Obviously, I vote to use swords. Unlike the last fight, this battle is very easy. I forgot to see if I could find Doug, but let's head to Ompross via the travel agency.

A few sailors in the town tell us Nurn lives in the south part of the city. Don't buy anything from his shopkeep, and he's waiting outside. We ask him about Ramylith, but he kinda blows us off. Nurn doesn't bother with us since he's distracted by someone else. Surlent, another of the three starting cast members, is here, asking to borrow Nurn's boat. They're hunting a kidnapper in the area. Sion thinks the kidnapper is a cultist. Nurn tells us to go north to Mt. Delphi. As we leave, we see Surlent leaving on the boat.

Mt. Delphi is to the north, but there's something odd outside. Tule says it's his Arc. It's an airship that only he and Ram can pilot, but Surt has probably commandeered it. For now, let's climb the mountain. It's another quick mountain path, but we reach a small tower soon. We make our way through but hear a voice. The camera takes us to two named Cid and Dune, trying to take Ram's jewel. Like Sion before, the gem leaps into Dune. The two of them leave the room and run into us. Sion and crew are suspicious and try to attack, but the two leap over us. Rather than give chase, we're more interested in Ram. The moment we enter the room, the man in the relief is set free. As Tule suspected, it's his friend, Ramylith! Ram speaks of Surt for a moment and how they don't get along. Tule whispers something, and the topic changes to Sion's jewel. Ram joins the group for two reasons: to look for Surt and because there's something at the Tower of Valiant to help us. Which is where we need to go!

On the boat back, we met the third starting character, Riza. Her group bickers with us for some reason, but Sion and Riza stay out. They do speak to each other, but Riza also has a gem. The two of them shine, knocking both our heros back. This ends that conversation with her group even more against us.

The final fight of the tournament is against a strange monk. Bring a lot of medical herbs before you go in. Monk hits hard, and Sion's magic can't keep up. It's also a long fight. Before it starts, Sion annoys his team by wanting to fight one-on-one. I got lucky with the blocks, misses, and crits, so good luck. Afterwards, the monk reveals himself to be the priest. He tells us that he's met Taurus, who's looking for a way to kill god. We all agree to go to the final ceremony on the roof.

The King and chancellor talk us up, and all four of us climb onto the podium. As we do, Sion's gem shines, and the altar we're on shakes. It rises off the roof, and we sail to the skies!

We end up at an abandoned castle that we'll soon learn is Ramylith's home. He's the last of the Danen, a race that died 8000 years ago. He warns us that the age of humans will end in twelve days, but this castle might hold a clue to stop Rudra. But I'll have to find that...

... tomorrow!

Days change after certain events, so rest at as many inns as you want. Days are biblical, it seems. Hella rad!
