Surlent may need another day...
The Ruins of Fahl are where the cultists are keeping the children. The Ruins are a pretty decent dungeon with a gimmick. We'll need to step on a floor switch a few times throughout. Doing so will raise or lower spikes to let us deeper in. The first, though, will give us access to three chests. One of which will teach us the mantra "stella" to let us steal HP. It never seems to work... Later on, we can find a Fahl Stone, which boosts fire damage defensively. After all of this, we'll see several kids in a jail cell with a cultist nearby. Surlent will confront him, and he'll say stuff about Rudra needing them for his return to purify the planet.
Ozunna summons four tiny monsters to help him, but they're a nonissue. He's apparently weak to water, but physical attacks did more to him than magic. I didn't find him hard, so save your MP for healing. Flip the switch behind the cultist, and we'll free the kids. One of them will have amnesia and doesn't know what he's supposed to do. He says his name is Lolo, and we all return to Dr. Munche at his home.
While there, the Dr. gives everyone their marching orders. Sork should return to Solon, while Legin should take the kids back to the city. Legin doesn't like children, so he pleads for a different job, but Surlent has to help with research. He's moved the Lagos Stone, somehow... But, before that, there's an eclipse to witness. I forgot to mention this in Sion's tale, but just as he stepped onto the altar, the moon covered the sun. This happens here, and Muench says it's to summon Rudra. It goes off without a hitch, but Surloin suddenly hears a scream.
I accidentally looked around the village we live in, but we're supposed to call for the elevator on the first floor. Taking it down brings us to the fatally wounded Meunch. He'll tell us the Lago Stone attacked him, but it looks fine as the reptile is still petrified. Surlent approaches the Lagos Stone, and it begins to glow. The reptile Rudra breaks free and immediately kills Surloin in the name of the extinct reptiles. As he does, the Jade transfers to Surlent.
Surlent wakes up in a town filled with reptiles, and he's flickering. All humans down here are, including a man who welcomes us to hell. I've forgotten his name, but he informs us of a way to return to the planet by using our newly required Jade. To do so, we'll need to find something at the nearby Museum of Magic. Walk out of town, and we'll reach a peaceful world map. Our destination is north, but we'll have to loop east and down to get there. We're here to find the human Rudra, who is still in stone. He's supposed to exist to bring prosperity to humans, so he's got to help us! Look through the gallery until you reach the Lagos Stone. Surlent activates it with his Jade, and out comes Hausen. He knows everything about us and offers us a way back to the living. Elsewhere in the museum is the Blade of Apocalypse: our ticket out.
Sadly, it's a trap. Hausen traps us in the sword, and he uses it to return to the surface. So he wasn't totally lying, I guess. He wreaks havoc on the town Muench lived in but leaves the blade outside as the sun rises. A beam of light emerges from it, and Surlent returns to hell. He meets the god of rebirth, Gomorrah, who offers us a temporary body to get ours back. We can choose between the mage body or the warrior's. I went with the sorcerer. Remember to equip yourself! By using the gates we learned about earlier, we can return to the planet. We have to teleport a few times, but we eventually reach Thor's Volcano. Sork doesn't recognize us and tries to kill us, but Surlent manages to buy time. Solon, eventually, sees through the fake body and sees his pupil. He commands the two of them to get Surlent's body back. We take his boat to town, and Legin feels the same as Sork. Lolo is there and recognizes his savior easily, convincing the others. Sork and Lolo join, which means we're bringing a child with PTSD with us. Word around town is monsters attacked Emira's Manor.
They did, and we'll find a minion of Hausen. Magic is totally ineffective against him, so just attack. We'll win, but the sun begins to shine. Surlent tells his friends to wait at Solon's as he fades back to hell. Gomorrah offers us the second body and suggests we speak to the remains of a dead animal before leaving. Its body is immobile, but its consciousness is still around. Before we can talk to him, we meet a woman. It's Riza's mom, and she tells us how rad her daughter is. She wants us to send her some words if we ever see each other, but I've forgotten them. When she leaves, we can talk to the target. I didn't really understand, but Hausen of someone very important. If we find all four Jades, we might be able to save the world.
As we return to Thor's Volcano, a massive tree grows! I think multiple trees talk to each other about how the world's been purified, but it doesn't matter. Rudra will continue the cycle unleashed the Four Great Ones are dealt with.
Return to Solon, and everyone's waiting for us. To get Surlent's body back, we'll need the Holy Grail, which we might know how to get. We'll need to use the teleporter behind Solon a few times until we find Warp Energy. We can return to Solon's hell and use another warp to end up elsewhere. After more random teleporting, we find Riza. She tells us Dune gave her the Holy Grail and the Holy Robe. She left the Grail elsewhere nearby, though. One of Riza's allies knows Lolo and asks us to go to the Hidden Village. I don't know where I'm supposed to go now, but I'm super lost. So I'll find the path...
... tomorrow!
Our fake bodies were called Huey and Rostam... You can also return to the first location to fight a boring fire lizard. We can use our Jade to find a new accessory that might be worth getting, I guess? I wanted to get Surlent's body back before I moved on, so I might give him another day even though he's gone way past Sion's day five.
