Moon's Gravity

The cooking begins.

We're just after Edge falls onto Luca's Falcon. He wants to know who the Man in Black is. Golbez will remain with that moniker for a while. There can be no answer as something more pressing happens. The camera cuts to the planetarium in Agart. The astronomer sees that the moon is attacking the planet. Hundreds of meteors fall onto Blue, and it leaves the land scarred. And then the moon moves closer to the planet... Edge, Luca, Golbez, and Rydia return to the surface. They need to see Cecil.

They land outside Baron, but there's a strange pink aura in the air. This is, apparently, bad, and the team can't enter the castle. They'll have to find a different way in. We investigate the town and talk to Grandma Farrell and Cid's daughter. They're of no help. But the Falcon can finally be controlled! With nowhere else to go, I'm off to find my friends.

I opt to take the same journey Cecil did, so I stop by Mist first. It's unaffected, but there's a strong mist surrounding the town. A voice calls out to Rydia and tells her to save the eidolons and return. Rydia's mom?

Next stop is Kaipo. The Sylphs are attacking the village, but they're surprisingly chill. Inside the house where all the sick people end up are Yang and Ursula. The attack by Leviathan resulted in them being washed ashore, and Yang dragged his daughter here. The inhabitants have accepted their house is a hospital now. The two monks are asleep and unresponsive, so there's nothing more we can do.

Edward isn't in his castle, but Harley is. As are rampaging antlions. Rydia asks Edge not to kill them because they're innocent, so don't talk to them. Harley wants to come along and find her boss/King/crush, but Edge knows she sucks. But the Damcyan chancellor requests she come along. She'll stay in the Falcon.

More Sylphs are attacking Fabul. You can get into a battle with them, and Rydia keeps talking about pacifism. Shiela gives us the trusty pan and the new standard, the ladle. I've driven this road, so it's back to Kaipo. Edge smacks Yang, who returns to his senses. He asks Rydia to hit Ursula, who obliges. They're awake but still weak, so they can hang out in the ship with Harley and the four ninjas. This also causes the Sylphs to regain their senses because all they wanted was Yang. Bunch of lonely fairies...

Ramuh is still attacking Mysidia, and there's a tough choice here. We can kill the lightning god, but that prevents him from joining us, and Rydia gets sad. Instead, weaken him until Rydia calls out to him. After a moment, Ramuh will return to his senses. Inside the main building is a relieved Porom. She promptly collapses out of exhaustion. I think she had a barrier to protect the elder. She joins the others on the ship.

Next up is Troia. It's frozen! Right, Shiva. Lodestone Cavern is where Palom was last seen, so we head there. They are also frozen. Shiva attacks, but I don't think she can be killed. Maybe I got lucky, but I didn't Ramuh myself. Palom introduces Leonora, Luca gets jealous, and then the black mage collapses. They join the others.

Titan is still attacking Agart. He'll be a random battle.

Eblan is on fire because Ifrit is still around. Find the magma golems in the towers and then speak to the seneschal. Ifrit's attacks become wilder, and Edge asks everyone to escape while he draws him away. He's promptly beaten, so Rydia saves him. The band they learn isn't great here, but it does something plotwise. "Fight fire with fire." Anyway, Ifrit joins. The moon grows larger...

That's everyone, apparently, so it's back to Mist. The mist clears, and the mayor comes out to talk to us. He says the Mist Dragon has been kept alive and sane by the children of the village. They may not be full fledged summoners, but there's a spark. Rydia regains her mom! Despite not finding a way to Baron, we're going back! The air is clear now...

While we did all that...

Kain, Ceodore, Rosa, Edward, and Cid confront Cecil and MG. Everyone tries to plead with Cecil, but his mind is gone, and he's sided with Rydia's doppelgänger. Kain even tries to battle his friend, but Cecil is too strong. Cecil then tries to get his son to join him, appealing to that familiarity, but Ceodore knows this isn't his real dad. Not even Rosa can reach him. The five attack him, but it doesn't work. This took place over about four days because...

Rydia's group finally reaches the throne room! Golbez calls out to his brother, finally introducing himself, and that does something. Cecil collapses, so it turns out he was just brainwashed. Rydia and Edge join Rosa, Ceodore, and Cid in a battle against MG. It goes on for a while... She says that this planet isn't necessary anymore and plans to wipe it out. She remembers Golbez, and her two twins pop in. All three teleport away because we're not worth it! Everyone wants to reach this new moon, which isn't the Lunarian Moon, but how? Golbez summons the Lunar Whale, so we'll see where that takes us...
