I decided to be terrible.
The chancellor of Damcyan needs to speak to the King. The kingdom is in debt, but the guards have been instructed that the King wants to be alone. We can hear him playing the only song he knows on his lute. A woman with blue hair enters and convinces everyone to let her pass. This is Harley, a trusted adviser and secretary to King Edward. She informs Ed that bankruptcy is inconsequential.
Anyway, a meteor has fallen to the east. Everyone wants to investigate, and Harley offers to lead it. Reluctantly, Edward agrees. He also sends word to Baron, unaware of what's transpired. Edward can't sleep, so he walks around the castle. He sneaks into Harley's room and reads her diary. The girl thinks highly of her leader. He can also take a nap in her bed... He walks out of the castle but is stopped by the chancellor. Ed convinces them to let him walk around the desert on the condition three guards go with him. As expected, he walks further away. He's worried about Harley, and the Baron messenger hasn't returned. You can explore the Antlion's Den, but the meteor is to the north of that. This place sucks. There are so many encounters, and all four characters can only attack. Harley is in the middle, doing some science, and they all return home together. She said the Earth is rotting. Harley can also only attack... The party sees a Red Wing airship land, but Ed feels uneasy about it.
The emissary only tells Edward to stay away from the meteor. Baron will do all the work. Ed tries to be cordial, but he knows Cecil wouldn't act like that. After the nameless emissary leaves, Ed plans to see Cecil himself. Harley charisma's her way into the travel party. Edward picks some flowers before they go as a present. We now get to go through the Underwater Cave.
This dungeon is filler.
Harley begins to show fatigue in the cave, but she collapses as they enter town. They take her to the same house Rosa was taken to because time is a circle, and it's Desert Fever. For some reason, Edward goes alone through the Underwater Cavern.
This dungeon is bad game design.
The Antlions Nest is actually peaceful! The Ruby can only be found during a full moon, but why can we inspect a boulder in the room? Ed starts through the cavern again but gets attacked by bandits. He falls into the river, and it takes him to the entrance.
He returns to Kaipo and treats Harley but passes out due to exhaustion. He has a dream about Anna, and she's sad. She wants him to live, but he doesn't understand. Tellah shoes up and tells the spoony one to let go of the past. Ed wakes up, and Harley is looking over him despite still being ill. He feels guilty, but Edward'll be more perceptive of her in the future.
The boat to Baron is to the east. Edward and Harley discuss Golbez and the return of the Moon. It looks different than before. They end up seeing a ship from Fabul as they travel, and they call out to Yang. The vessel begins to slow down, so it's a short lived reunion.
They arrive in Baron and speak to Cecil. He's dismissive, and Ed knows what's up. He gives the flowers to Cecil and leaves after asking about Rosa and Ceodore. Before leaving, Cecil gives Edward a locked box. Harley is confused, but Ed tells her that wasn't Cecil. On the boat back to Kaipo, he tells her that the flower was Whisperweed, the same plant that helped slay the Dark Elf. They overhear Cecil and a girl trash talking Damcyan, plotting to take their crystal. Edward believes the box is a Carnelian Signet. Before this goes any further, Leviathan attacks them.
This chapter could have been an email. So how did Edward get back Damcyan for Dark Kain? When did Rosa show up after fleeing?
