The Blue Planet that Was

...nope.

We begin in a battle. We're playing as Golbez against Cecil, who promptly kicks our butt. Fortunately, it was a dream. The Man in Black who was with Rydia was actually Golbez! He's in a sleep pod surrounded by people who resemble the Mysterious Girl. FoSuYa is supposed to be in as well, but he's gone. Golbez decides to get some moon air and walks into the room we beat Zemus in. He continues through the Lunar Subterranean, but it's mostly peaceful. Occasionally, he senses something bad happening on the surface, and monsters attack him. This continues until he reaches the Crystal Palace and sees the crystals are blood red. FuSuYa enters, and he's also picking up on bad vibes, so the two men go on a lunar expedition!

The surface is changed, so it sucks to walk around on. It's a maze, and you have no clue where you're going. Eventually, I found an impact creator. A meteor landed to the south of everything, and it's almost a direct copy of Yang's side of the Earth's meteor. There's even a Rydia doppelgänger! The three try to get information from each other, but everyone is cagey, so they fight. Unlike previous battles, we actually have to beat MG. She summons Ashura, to the men's surprise, and she provides support to her caller. Haste up and spam magic, but be on the lookout for a repeating theme in this chapter. Fu has no goddamn MP!!!

MG dies, and the boyz want to check on Bahamut. We stumble our way to his lair and have to deal with the nonsense of super Malboros. This chapter blows. But the eidolon god is, just as everyone else, petrified. Fu believes he isn't stoned. His body and soul are trapped in another dimension. They're worried and want to return to the palace.

Much to their shock, MG is waiting. She was following them in hopes she'd find the crystals she was looking for. We have to fight her again, and she calls Leviathan this time. He's a bit more offensive, but the strategy is the same. Yet another MG teleports in, and one of the crystals shatters! Somehow, she's feeding off the crystals and wants what's at the lunar core. They try to pray for the Lunar Whale, but that stuff takes time. In the meantime, the guys give chase through the final dungeon of the FFIV, and we see the crystals breaking as we descend. We'll reach the final room, and all hope is lost. With all the chaos, Zemus is reincarnated, and Golbez and FuSuYa, after hearing KluYa's voice, have to engage him. They learn a band technique I spam and win after using all my dry ethers on the blobman. But Zemus isn't dead, and Fu knows it. The Lunar Whale is in range now, and FuSuYa teleports his nephew to it. Golbez is unconscious and dreams about all five times he's met Cecil:
When Cecil killed Zemus
When Rydia beat him.
Tellah's death.
Kain's first betrayal.
And before Theodore almost killed his baby brother.

The Lunar Whale arrives at the Blue Planet, and this tale comes to a conclusion. With that, we've finished all character introductions, so we'll gather them together (presumably)...

This chapter sucked, but at least it was short. The challenge dungeons were terrible, too. Not as bad as Porom's, though.
