Pulse of Babil

Good decision, me.

Edge's tale begins with a battle. He's against four other ninjas of various ages, but he beats them with ease. The four say how rad their master is, but Edge thinks he's gotten soft. But training is over, so it's time for work. Everyone wonders about the Moon and the Tower of Babil, and Edge plans to bear the entire weight of this alone. He goes to get some air, but the four students stop him. They know what's up and convince the King of Eblan to let them help. We now split into five stories!

Gekkou is up first, and he goes to the meteor crater. He also remarks that the planet is rotting before he notices five monks engaging in a battle with the Mysterious Girl. She quickly kills two of them, and the other three give chase. Gekkou wants to see. We travel through Yang's portion of the crater, learning the girl doesn't understand honor and vengeance. She doesn't get why the monks are after her. We can choose to battle her after she defeats the three, but a quick Meteor would wipe out our ninja tank. The game keeps going, so I wonder how the game goes without him? Regardless, he buries the monks and constructs the gravestone Yang saw before going home.

Zangetsu is next, and the old man is disguised as a dwarf under King Giott. He's not very good at it, but the dwarfs are cool. After he checks the dark crystal is still there, the Tower of Babil starts to shine!  He makes his escape and has to go through some mines.

Izayoi is an epopt in training, and she goes through a cold plunge after speaking to Palom in Troia. She then decides to investigate the Tower of Trials but finds nothing of note. She can see Babil shine and goes home via ship.

Tsukinawa is pretending to be a mage trainee in Mysidia. He's weary of Porom. Disguised as a toad, he overhears the Elder ask Porom to find Kain. There was a frog during her tale, and I was curious what it meant. Good follow through! He stalks her to Ordeals but loses her at the Paladin room. He runs across the water to get back to Eblan. Huh!?

Edge sees the tower shine and goes to see it firsthand via the cave he once fled to. His parents are buried in the "town." "Out of sight; a ninja to the end." Before entering, he sees a hallucination of Rubicante, where the fire fiend once defeated him. As he travels up the tower, his four students catch up to him, telling him what they learned. Only Gakkou has any weight. At the top is the Mysterious Girl. Before confronting her, Edge sees his parents and Rubicante. He also hears a voice telling him to run. He ignores it. Ifrit beats them up, but Edge uses a smoke bomb to escape. The trap door they once fell through is still there, but so is Ifrit. They wind up where the Falcon was once docked, but nothing's there now. MG has them cornered, but Esge accepts time is repeating and jumps down. His backups follow.

The team lands on Cid's airship because time is repeating. Edge made a bet, it seems, and won. Rydia is also there, but he's more distracted by the ominous, imposing presence of the Man in Black. We'll learn who that guy is...

...tomorrow!

Yeah, Rydia is going to wrap this up nicely. Maybe...
