Crowns of Power finally patched, so I was there all night. But I did play Yang's chapter!
We begin with Yang, wearing a shirt, training the monk corps. He's King now! A young girl tries to join the training, but Yang tells his daughter, Ursula, that she can't. Yang is called to work and leaves. The topic is about how sketchy Baron has become. Yang is vehement that Cecil would never let his kingdom fall to ruin. No one agrees, but the King is King. A monk rushes into the room to inform Yang that Ursula escaped and ran off to Mt. Hobs. Yang takes a group and goes after her.
Mt. Hobs has had a lot added to it. But it's nothing to write home about. They find the heir there, beating up Dad Bomb, and question why she ran off. She wanted to investigate the meteor that landed here. She didn't tell anyone about it because no one would have let her see it. Yang will investigate but demands Ursula go home. It's too dangerous. She reminds him that her going home would bring her into more danger, so she's coming along.
We visit the same meteor Edward saw, but it's from a different angle. This side requires us to jump. But just as Harley, everyone sees that the planet is rotting. They eventually have to return home but see a fleet of Red Wings heading to Fabul.
Yang and crew somehow arrive first and prepare to meet Baron. They attack! It's just like it was before. So much, in fact, that Kain confronts them in the crystal chamber. We beat him up until Kain recalls he's good at jumping. Kain takes the crystal, and Yang wonders his next move. It is Ursula who mimics Rydia and encourages them to go get it back. And she convinces her dad to let her come along.
As they sail, they see Edward. We learn our ship is damaged somehow, so the captain has to beach it. We're out of fuel, which isn't wind. We need Palm Oil, so King Yang goes to find it. Alone. That night, Ursula goes to locate him with backup.
This maze is kinda lame, but we flashback a lot to Yang and Ursula's relationship. Yang seems scared to be a father, but he is happy when Shelia tells him she's pregnant. We learn Ursula showed promise, but Yang didn't want to teach her. He thought she only believed in strength and not heart. Shelia calls him dumb. Ursula eventually reaches a Palm Tree, but it's guarded by an adamantoise. No one can do any damage, but Yang eventually shows up. We see another flashback with Yang breaking a rock in one blow with Ursula watching on. This causes her to learn her special technique, Tenqetsu. This move might strike at an enemy's weakness. But it lets everyone else do more than one damage.
After the battle, Yang sees that Ursula is just as he hoped she'd be, so he agrees to become her master. Ursula can no longer call Yang father since he's the master now. This feels Ike a downgrade to me. We have to walk out of the maze forest and board the boat. We don't get far as Leviathan attacks! I'm gonna do Edge...
...tomorrow!
I want to get him out of the way because Rydia feels hella important. But I liked this chapter. Yang is rad, and Ursula won me over. Doing the challenge dungeon made her superpowered, and I fed her 200 silver apples to give her decent HP. I think she'll be an end game party member!
