That's a bridge...
We've gotten through the lines and reached the depo. While the rebels are keeping everyone else busy, we've snuck around the mountain in the back. The DHZ notices us before we enter the base, so tonight's only fight happens!
Set your defense to fire resistance. All but the three weak cannons before us now are missile launchers, and it'll help a lot. It takes our two allies three turns to construct the single cell bridge to the wall of the castle/base. They're tanky enough to take all the fire from us, assuming you kill the cannons, and they'll exit the fight once their job is complete. From here, head down the railings and take out the wanzers. Get close because they lack any mid/close range power. The big guy in the back is a grenadier, so do what you want. In all, pretty easy.
The group will wait for Kwang, but Emma is hyper focused. Yun complains about needing a break before we march toward Shanghai, but Emma gets mad and walks off. With the rebels together, our next plan of attack. We're going to Shanghai!
We'll split into three groups. Two groups to divert the enemy forces makes sense, but this next part confuses me. I don't know how this'll work yet, but it sounds stupid. Emma's plan is to make a decoy group that's just inflatable wanzers and tanks near the lake. She expects the DHZ will waste time, giving us an opening. So the balloons will be replaced with real ones after the event; the third group. After telling us the plan, Emma leaves. Kazuki chases her down but heads to the shop to upgrade the mechs first.
When we find Emma, she's on edge. She's worried about Alisa to the point she's willing to sacrifice herself to save her. Kazuki is the calm one now and asks her what that would accomplish. If either dies, none of this will have meant anything. He calms Emma down, and the two share a tender moment before heading back to base. I liked the scene because it shows their roles from Taal Base have flipped. Kaz has become the veteran, while Emma has become a loving sister. Admittedly, Emma's change hasn't really been foreshadowed or explained, so maybe it sucks! Regardless, we'll see how this plan I don't understand works...
...tomorrow!
More importantly, I finally won my Smash group's Championship Title. I'm the last to win it, and we might be adding another to the group soon, so my victory would be harder. But ol' Sephiroth got a shiny, gold title because I'm the best! Now to defend it...
