The Spiral Tower...

...is a basement.

We need to land our dragon a long way away, which is annoying. Not too bad, but badlands are bad. After traveling the long, mountainous path and climbing a plateau in the middle, we reach a large tower. Despite being a tower, we’re going down.

Nearly everyone needs to be used to progress down here, but Tim especially. The game really wants you using his teleport thing. Alongside Tim, you’ll need to use bombs to make a few AND-Gates, and light some sconces with Lillia. Pretty early on, Ashley gets his final Tool, Flare Gun, which can be used to trigger a few switches above him.

The few puzzles down here can be tricky. The terrible clue they give you in one involves you needing to activate the panels in order of the days of the week. The rest of the puzzles I had to think about were wall puzzles. Towards the bottom are walls that start fights. Some need to be fought to open, but some need to be retained to walk on. These are some decent puzzles, too. You start thinking you’ll need to just power through them but nope. It’s a good red herring. There’s also a boss, but I’ll be damned if I remember it. I know I Illia got to return to being an attacker again. I got her a Crest S(?), which ups the power of a spell. I chose Saber. Hi-Healing got the lower MP cost, if you were wondering.

There’s also a dragon boss at the bottom, but I think I’m ready to end the game. After the dragon dies, Tim tells us he senses a guardian nearby. But we have all the guardians!? Taking the teleporter down leads us to Glave le Gable. He is the creator guardian from whence all life comes from. This blue mud is the all powerful primordial goo of Filgaia.

I was wanting to continue but ran out of time. So, after doing the purple maze place and opening the treasures around the save point, I called it a night.

I end this tomorrow!

I went in and fought a few optional bosses before getting started. I beat down three: Ghost Vinsfeld, the one in Helmholtz, and the one in the Meteor Crater. Everyone else wiped me, so I decided I was done. Those pyramid bosses are no joke, man! If there’s a quick exit and entrance soon, maybe I’ll try again with all the new levels I got down here. The final dungeon is an excellent grind spot! Who’d have guessed it?
