I am...whelmed.

And so we walked up the path to a small room floating above Crystalis. I switched out some shoes for K and Topher. K's explosion does damage based on his magic power, so I lowered that and just said screw it. I also gave him a new piercing keychain. I handed Cristopher some magic shoes to maximize his spell damage. All three of those decisions were wise.

Ardo was shocked to see us, surprised we could get past his defenses. He also feels mild betrayal that JKR is fighting him now. K doesn't quite understand why he's here either, but he sees Crisbell as a benevolent spirit in this conflict. Ardo is here to revive his people and doesn't want to get his hands dirty, but he has no choice, and the final battle begins!

Ardo is pathetically weak. He can bring all of our HPs to 1, just as Krysta could, but he isn't fast enough to follow up on it. Just make sure K doesn't overheat. His other attack is a spell that halves the target's HP. He has 8000 HP, and he starts a countdown when he's under 2000. We'll have three (his) turns to take out the remaining health before he does something that's probably scary. I had Crisbell casting Regio Celeritas every three turns to give everyone haste and healing when need be. Cristopher spammed Pressurized Streams for over 300 damage, and K punched for over 450 damage. My levels were in the mid to lower 30s, and I'm mildly annoyed at how easy it was.

Matias/Ardo is disparaged that his eternal plan has actually failed for once. But Crisbell tries to call out to him. She wants to save the Rena, too, but not at the expense of everyone currently alive. Besides, it could never work. The time jump is too much. While a short term leap is possible, which we could see when Crisbell came back the first time, a larger jump, like when Crisbell went back and became the Empress of Time, has too much divergence. Ardo responds by saying a time skip the size of an entire planet is different, though. 3000 years is doable at such a large scale. Crisbell starts thinking and proposes that sending the Rena even further into the future could create a bubble capable of sending them peacefully. A new world? Ardo says it's possible, but the energy needed for such a task is astronomical. Crisbell retorts, "But what if we had the most powerful time mage in history helping you control that energy?" Ardo states how foolish it is to trust his longtime energy, so Crisbell reminds him of the journey they took together. All the happiness and sadness they experienced. All the deep friendships they made... He still doesn't think she can handle the energy, but Crisbell's done a lot of impossible tasks lately. JKR chimes in to say that if Crisbell dies, then Ardo can carry on with his original plan. Ardo still doesn't believe it is possible, but he gives Crisbell a shot.

We see a scene that resembles the Creation of Adam, but I might just be looking too much into it.

Crisbell begins, and everything is going well for a moment. But then the world starts to shake. There's too much energy! Ardo wants to stop the plan, but Crisbell made a promise. She turns trance and ...disappears into the aether...

Crisbell's gone, but her plan worked. But...she's effectively dead. Cristopher is upset and demands answers, which no one can give. Everyone else is stupidly nonchalant about their friend dying. Zas jokes about making a religion out of her... But Ardo, who is mournful, can finally revive his people. He tells his Witnesses they're welcome to follow him through the portal. Buki is excited to rear children again, and Nassar wants to restart her research. K and Paulina remain here. They want to keep seeing what mankind becomes. The three go through the portal, and we see another planet form right next to the current one. There is no way this is astronomically possible, but I'll let it slide.

We then see the ending scenes of the towns we've visited.
Anton and Robert are chilling in Narim, and we see the orphans grow up. All without a new new Mother Superior.
Adri is tending her shop while Clarity parties.
Neva Talira is having another parade while the university flourishes. Cristopher and Ryza seem like they're happy.
Cinder is being rebuilt, and the Volcano Sisters use telekinesis to repair their castle. Kari and Zas are in the cemetery, each with a different emotion on their face.
The three Mother Superiors repair Crystalis.
JKR is just standing in the Rainbow Lake again.
Ardo is glad to be home after so long. But then someone unexpected appears...

If you did the DLC, you get one new scene.

Adri and Alexandre do something, and we see the chin of an elderly woman. Was that Crisbell?

I have so many questions. Was Crisbell's grandmother actually Crisbell? If Krysta was Crisbell, then I guess a third Crisbell wouldn't seem out of place. But who was Ardo talking to? Some people online think Crisbell might also be Lillith, Ardo's love. And is Ardo Crisbell's dad? What did I experience and why?

Questions we'll never get answers to, I guess? Cristales got real artsy-fartsy at the end, but the credits just rolled on the True Ending, and I think the lead dev is working on a new game. So, with that, Cristales is done.

Fin.
