Not me!
After last night's failure, I got on with the game. Tonight, we dug through the four ruins across the world in countries we've visited. Each one had a similar puzzle to the FreeLC dungeon, which hammered home I should have done that last. Narim and Cinder had us hoping through warp panels to walk on the ceiling. Telira had us using the barrier breaker stuff, and Clarity had us blowing stuff up. The enemies inside all of them were the single cell organisms and a location specific golem. More interestingly, we learned the backstory of all the Witnesses. Similar to Wilhelm's projection screens, we saw two scientists interact with our robotic companions during the same period of time.
Narim was about JKR-721. The scientist who made him labeled him 001, so I wonder if JKR changed his numbers every time he woke up. Even then, K was unsure of his purpose. He was constructed as a living memory bank of the Rena and programmed with all the world's knowledge. He quickly grew confused by what was his memories and was just an encyclopedia, but his creator promised to guide him through it to learn what emotions are. Unfortunately, the humans attacked...
We'll find him at the end, waiting for us. He has accepted his programming to destroy all humans, seeing as we're the villains in his story. After a battle where he fights as he does with us, Crisbell convinces him, by using examples of what they've done and seen together, that not all humans are bad. He rejoins the team now, and I put him back in. He's so fast and strong!
Nasar was created in Cinder. She was constructed to have the power to manipulate many types of materials, I think it was primarily as an artist. But she tried to eschew it. She was curious about a certain type of time machine. Unfortunately, the humans attacked...
Nasar fights the same as she did before. She more or less lets us turn off the generator after Crisbell promises she wants to end all war and bloodshed.
Buki was a caretaker for the younglings. She loved taking care of the children. Unfortunately, the humans attacked...
Buki also fights the same way. She's having a mental breakdown because she's recalled all the people she had to kill. The humans killed so many children, and they deserved it. But Buki wasn't made to destroy. She wants Crisbell to kill her to end the pain. Crisbell assures her that she'll be able to care in the future and for Crisbell now.
Paulina was supposed to be a symbol of comradery between Rena and humans. Unfortunately, the humans attacked... Unlike the other dungeons, Ardo appears in Paulina's section. He wants revenge on mankind for killing a woman he loved named Lilith.
Paulina fights similarly to the robot boss in the Clarity mountains. You have to defeat her hands, so she'll repair them (by blowing on her nails). Bring plenty of charm heals, and this won't be hard. Paulina, as all the others did, wants Crisbell to destroy her. Crisbell, of course, refuses to harm a friend. It is that friendship that lets our boat let us turn off the generator.
All four generators are shut down, and we return to the control ruins in Crystalis. Adri activates the console, and the door to Ardo opens. We can face off against Ardo...
But first! I went back to the new dungeon and walked back up to Alexandre. I used the Cryatarium Plant, which made a Time Tome, and I threw it at the fifth witness. It started to uncorrupt him, but I had to send him to the future for it to take effect. From there, I wailed away. For my hard work, I got a cutscene where the room started falling. Adri reached out her hand in an attempt to save Alexandre from the rubble, and we saw the dragon fly off, returning us to the ruins. Alex wasn't around, and Adri kept telling us about the room on the right. Did we do anything? What was that?
I gave the Colosseum a shot but saw that it was thirty fights. I don't want to do that, so I'll finish Cristales...
...tomorrow!
Fortunately, these sections were pretty short. The game is starting to teeter on too long, so I'm unsure if I'm giving it the two points. We'll see how I feel.
