Wilhelm is dead, and we're back in time to prevent killing Judy with access to bombs.
And the first thing we need to do is talk to the Statue of Liberty. While the idea of returning to a place we've already been bores her, the need to save the world quickly overrides that apathy. Paulina happily takes us to Neva Telaria. We can inform Ryza of what happened to Wilhelm, and she gets depressed. But the city is still grooving, and the racism is starting to lighten up. Visit Wilhelm's house, and we'll see a hologram of Relo. But Wilhelm speaks to us via prerecorded messages. He knew this day would come, so he prepared these talks for them. I don't know when, but he did. Crisbell asks five questions, and we learn that Wilhelm was born Relo Wilhelm von Austern. While attending the College in Crystalis, he met Krysta, the woman who would become the Empress of Time. And yes, I will no longer be calling her Judy. While there, the two became rivals as they were both at the top of their class and mastered the curriculum. That rivalry became friends and eventually lovers. After graduation, they dove into the ruins that dot the land. While in one of them, Krysta changed. The ruins contained remnants of an ancient civilization with advanced technology that fused itself into nature. We've heard about the Rena a few times, so I assume it's proof they existed. She warned Relo not to return to Chrystalis. She, though, did and started to take over the city. They laughed at her when she demanded power, so she took it by force. We know the rest involving the Mother Superiors and the time stealing. But Wilhelm knows something in those ruins is the key to stopping Krysta. Wilhelm once had the key, but the shadowy figure stole it. Fortunately, we have that shadow figure! Kari is wearing the key as a necklace! The way to open the ruins of Telira is located in the salt mines.
There is a light in the furnace room, and it signals the door. It takes us to an annex of the mines. The new moh is a water firefly, and I really miss Wil's ability to multi scan. The place looks similar to the previous side, but we'll eventually reach several TVs. But they're guarded.
The Alabaster Bugat Boss is just a stronger version of Kari's pet. But it's prettier!
JKR will interact with the consoles, and he raises the ruins near the town. He offers us a chance to teleport out, but I explore more. There was nothing to explore. Visit the new tower, and there are more TVs. K fiddles with the controls and deactivates their threat. And now we need to do it in every other country!
We can choose where to go, and I want to revisit where all this started. I took a detour to Wilhelm's shack to reminisce. But we then return to Narim. The guards are gone, and everyone is thrilled to see us. But not all is well. Just after we left, Mayor Anton and Farmer Robert grew ill. They're at the farm with Polly. I talked to my fellow orphans first to see how they're handling without Mother Superior. Okay, sorta? After checking Anton and Bob, we realize they're sick with Glass Lung. We have the recipe, and June brews the potions. The two men quickly get better, but then guards attack the city!
We rush to the center of town and see old Carpenter Joe holding them back while everyone retreats to the orphanage. We quickly kill the Clarity guards and find Magna. She tells us she's seen the guards' camp in the mountains. The path is near the graveyard. Fun fact about that, we can still talk to Wilhelm if we interact with the grave. The devs didn't update the scene when Cris asks who "Relo von Austre" is. Wilhell chimes in with, "I don't know." Indy dev oversight is my favorite, and I say that as an indie developer.
The new path of the Evergreen Forest looks like the old path. There's a new mob, the black wisp, a negative firefly from Cinder, but that's all. The wandering merchant recognizes this area as fake... At the guards' camp is an old friend of Cristopher. Peter! I guess the Volcano Sisters didn't kill him, but he did notice the trap they set and betrayed them. He tells us his evil plan involving Secretary Lana, the woman who tried to arrest us and set off this whole journey. Her real name is Lava... Zas remarks on this scene, and it kinda breaks the wall before the battle begins.
Peter fights the same way as Enzo did in chapter two. I don't even know if he's stronger. We loot his key and find the tower control panel. K gave us the option to teleport to the start of the dungeon, but I wanted to explore. There was nothing more to explore.
Crisbell wanted to check on Narim before going to the ruins, and we saw the entire town waiting for her! They all thank her for saving them, and she's so glad to be home. The orphans decide she's the new Mother Superior, which Crisbell accepts. But Magna will watch over them until the journey is over. Sadly, Joe is dead. His last words were confessing his love for a longtime crush.
The Narim ruins are in the same shape as the Tulira ruins, and the same thing happens. I'll try to finish this up and get prepared for the final dungeon...
...tomorrow!
Maybe two more updates?
